Ancient Manuscripts and Modern Design

The Ethiopians chose to express Scripture in a visual and colorful manor.  The artistic qualities are consistent throughout the text as if it was completed by one author/artist.  The color pallet combines earth tones and nature colors with the color pallets of Ethiopian attire.  These color pallets brought a CONTRAST that was relatable to its people/culture.  The REPETITION of colors provided evidence of either their color limitations or what was a representation of their culture. The ALIGNMENT was also simple but a little rough as this was obviously handwritten.  With PROXIMITY, rather than just having pictures and text, the text was, at times, embedded as a part of the artwork.

This work appeared more like a children’s bible.  But to explain a set of scriptures to a new culture, this would be the best presentation.
